Monday April 11th, 2k16

I forgot the importance of running with a companion or running in a group. Today I was joined by my peer New Zealand's Finest former Providence Friar and Assistant Coach for the BPS City Wide XC (Cross Country) Program Alex Wallace.  Fantastic news Alex got accepted to Cornell University and is going to be enrolling in the Fall starting his Masters Program. In regards to the run the workout was 30 Minute run non stop. My first mile was 9:23, my second mile was 9:28 I finished around 27 mins and stretched for the last 3 mins.

First and foremost forgive me if I am Late on this one. The soundtrack of the day was provided by  Smoke Dza & Harry Fraud  "He Has Risen EP " I have heard or listen to any new music it was a breath of fresh air to hear the growth from the Kush God from Uptown NYC. Harry Fraud has been consistent and developing his unique sound if you aren't familiar in my Clinton Sparks voice "Get Familiar". Check out the visuals for the Heard Dat track.

Even A Bad Run is Better Than No Run

Beautiful Saturday Morning, started the day with great conversation with my brother from another JFK Co-Owner of ShowOff Records partner with Statik Selektah. We were just catching up on and typical politics involved in the music industry, he had finished working an overnight and was heading to the gym. The underlying theme of our conversation was consistency and respecting the process.

I created this website with intent with purpose but scattered focus because of scattered ideas, the lack of consistent posting has alot to due with my ADHD, and i have been taking the proper measures to address my issues. I am looking forward to sharing my trails and tribulations.  God Willing through my journey I can expire you in the unseen who is reading this that is never too late to accomplish anything you want in this Life. Since the business of Hiphop was on my mind I wanted to create and share a the music playlist that I ran to today.

In short I will also captivating some pictures along my journey.

Today's run was Distance: 2.6 miles
Pace: 10:05  min/mile
Duration: 26:12 min

Dreams Are Tangbile Goals

It has been said that real gangsters move in silence. In the case of Havoc (of Mobb Deep) and legendary producer The Alchemist, the duo chose to let their music speak for themselves. On the newly announced collaborative album, The Silent Partner, Havoc serves as the smooth-talking, gangster mouthpiece to the Alchemist's gritty, one-of-a-kind instrumental backdrops. One of the most decorated producers in hip-hop today, The Alchemist’s relationship with Mobb Deep dates back to 1999 when Cypress Hill’s DJ Muggs introduced the then-upcoming producer to the revered New York duo. The Alchemist would go onto forge a strong bond with the group, resulting in a myriad of classic tracks throughout the years. Connecting for their first full-length collaboration, the duo have shared smooth single "Maintain (Fuck How You Feel)," which premiered today via HotNewHipHop. Sounding sharper than ever, Havoc laces the listener with a series of street narrations over a laid back ALC beat. The Silent Partner is a magnificently organic album that brings together one-half of the Mobb with their favorite producer for a modern day hip-hop classic. The Silent Partner features guest appearances by Method Man, Prodigy (of Mobb Deep) and Cormega and will be released on May 20th via Babygrande Records. Inner City Sunshine

5:09pm on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, accompanied by my Best friend we decide to  take the shenanigans to Deer Island Park located in Winthrop Massachusetts. Deer Island has one of nicest view of the City of Boston, we had intentions to come write in our Journals and reflect and plan life accordingly.

image.jpg

The theme of the adventure was DAngelo's Pandora station, 1st song that came on was DAngelo's "Crusinin", how appropriate for the occasion. Deer Island is only an 13 minutes drive from our home in East Boston, convientently this destination works for the both of us. While I am driving Bestie says "I knew you were going want to walk somewhere close to the beach", I chuckled I didn't want to walk. I had a different agenda today, I wanted to  locate a nice park bench with an amazing view and start working on the Blog.

Next track that comes on is Inner City Blues by the Late and Great Marvin Gaye. The intro bring me a nostalgia of a period of piety and nationwide train of thought amongst people of the African Diaspora fighting for civil Rights. I couldn't get pass the bridge of the record and not be fascaniated by Marvin's Gaye word which are 30 years old.

This song is performed by Marvin Gaye and appears on the album What's Going On (1971).

Dah, dah, dah, dah

Dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah
Dah, dah, dah, dah
Dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah
Dah, dah, dah
Rockets, moon shots
Spend it on the have nots
Money, we make it
Fore we see it you take it
Oh, make you wanna holler
The way they do my life
Make me wanna holler
The way they do my life
This ain't livin', This ain't livin'
No, no baby, this ain't livin'
No, no, no
Inflation no chance
To increase finance
Bills pile up sky high
Send that boy off to die
Make me wanna holler
The way they do my life
Make me wanna holler
The way they do my life
Dah, dah, dah
Dah, dah, dah
Hang ups, let downs
Bad breaks, set backs
Natural fact is
I can't pay my taxes
Oh, make me wanna holler
And throw up both my hands
Yea, it makes me wanna holler
And throw up both my hands
Crime is increasing
Trigger happy policing
Panic is spreading
God know where we're heading
Oh, make me wanna holler
They don't understand
Dah, dah, dah
Dah, dah, dah
Dah, dah, dah

Mother, mother
Everybody thinks we're wrong
Who are they to judge us
Simply cause we wear our hair long

The two records played on Pandora set the tone to reflect and write, 1st record "Crusin" song which is a rendition of Smokey Robinson classic.  I am crusing with my love of my life my finance "Ange". She doesn't understand when I look at her I jut smile. Since I started the blog a year ago so much has changed and I have dealt with the inner city blues but today we are going to embrace the sunshine

First and foremost I am engaged to my bestie. Second I am not working at Tremont Credit Union, I am employeed by the Boston Teachers Union. Third It's been a year since I was an assistant coach at South Boston boys & girls Indoor and Outdoor Track team. The Boys went undefeated in dual meets both indoor and outdoor clinching the South conference each season. Fourth and most important i returned back to school in the Fall of 2014 at Bunker Hill Community College.

I wanted to express myself by reintroducing  to my audience with positive news and explain my delay because Dreams Are Tangible Goals

#BetterThanBedtime HARVARD Stadium

DSC_0078-600x400.jpg

Forgive the tardiness and the delay on posting. I promise to make it more consistent. Special salute to the Homie Mike Moves for the inspiration, he suggested that I run with him and join the tribe at the November Project. Every Wednesday rain or shine they run the at the Harvard Stadium 19 sections of stairs with the Super Secret Group at 5:30 am

Workouts:
- Full tour – 37 sections in the shortest period of time.
- Tour of 50 – starting at section 37 to section 13 and back for a total of 50 sections in the shortest period of time.
- 35 minutes – covering as many sections as possible in 35 minutes
- Century – 100 sections in the shortest time possible

Well being to eager to finish or the ego saying that I could do it I was truly awaken literally how out of shape I am and I need to strengthen my legs, squads, calves and knees and most important stretch because I ended up with DOMS - Delyaed Onset Muscle Soreness - The soreness is felt most strongly 24 to 72 hours after the exercise.[1] It is thought to be caused by eccentric (lengthening) exercise, which causes microtrauma to the muscle fibers. After such exercise, the muscle adapts rapidly to prevent muscle damage, and thereby soreness, if the exercise is repeated.

With that being said I will be returning back to the November Project in way better shape but this was the motivation I needed thank you Mike via @IamMrJump twitter

Most Definitely if you are following me review what the November Project is doing Nation wide. Make sure you follow them on all Social media Outlets
