Soundtrack of the Day: Find Ya Wealth

At this stage of my life, I am still a competitor, but running is a place I find solitude. Plus I am looking forward to spending time with my family. If you get a chance you can follow my journey on Strava, I am usually on Instagram. I have neglected this audience., regardless the year may change, the weather may change the but the mantra stays the same: Dreams Are Tangible Goals

Wow so much has happened since I last posted on my Blog, since the last time I actually held a DATG podcast. I have some real exciting news. Black Thought Zones Out on the NPR Tiny Desk #StreamsOfThought Series

Day 30 of COVID-19. Worldwide we are all in it together. In these times positive vibes only. Many of us have been inside our homes, entertained by various mediums. The IG Battles have been innovative, genuinely the intentions where to spread love. Salute to all the artists, who have taken their crafts serious and utilize their platforms to spread love and awareness.

Growing up my father played so many great bands, Earth Wind & Fire, Parliament Funk. As youth I would hear stories of the Mothership landing in Boston. James Brown standing in downtown talking to the people after Dr.King was assassinated. Once again the musical genius are at again, this time I will tell my future family, about the greatness of the Roots Crew.

The standard has been set, if you aren’t familiar with the Tariq Trotter aka Black Thought & Ahmir Khalib Thompson aka Questlove the founders of the Legendary Roots Crew. God Willing once we get back to interacting to some degree, make sure you catch the Roots Crew Live. In the meanwhile check out their youtube Channel: The Roots

Boston College Reservoir | Fire & Ice

Tempted to running little faster, quickly reminded to take my time, I am locked in and dreaming closing in on the most miles ran in 20 years. I can't think not about my health, my diet the goal is to be injury free before October 1st. This is the second week since Coach Average BROE has had the campers for the Boston XC Camp meet at the  Boston College Reservoir. The Chestnut Hill reservoir another name for the 1.55 loop located right next to Cassidy Playground in Coolidge Corner, where Boston, Brookline and Newton town lines meet.

First warmup and mile into the run I finally started getting some decent pace and felt like I was following the workout as planned. At this stage of my progression I am discovering and trusting the art of pacing, learning how to cruise at steady pace, while focusing on my diaphragm as well as my glutes.

Not only was today was a good workout for everyone in attendance the "Illumanti" got paid. The Illumanti is the name of group of boys on the Boston Pubic Schools City Wide XC Cross Country Team who are very good friends.  First pay check of the summer, i knew there was going to be some binging going down because this kids have "disposable" income. I suggest we celebrate like Adults and young adults and take the festivities to Fire & Ice Interactive Grill & Bar.

Fire & Ice was a good time, full of laughs and good foods. Victor Baez Jr, a junior at Charlestown High School member of the team says " A twenty Dollar well spent". I couldn't agree, more. My wife (Petruvna) met me at the restaurant and missed the first wave of destruction as the boys created the greatest Bacon & Cheeseburger. This experience is a memorable one, team bonding with my guys outside of running and training is special. Looking forward to more outings such as this one, for Petruvna and I Fire & Ice always provides us with that nostalgic feeling. I am confident that my squad will keep the tradition going.

Drake "View" Reviews

SMDH hurt myself while participating in Yoga position downward dog a few days ago, I developed a muscle spasm in below my left shoulder blade. Regardless felt good to just get out there and something in #EarlyBirdGetsTheWorm. First run in several days, slow and steady but we are working out the kinks.

I wont front and act like I was waving the OVO Flag. I wont front I am breaking out the habit of comparing and contrasting newer artists to the Golden era artists. On the project "Life is Good" by Nas on the track "Back When" Nasir Jones is quoted with spitting, " To call them fake today it's hate| real niggas extinct 'Pac left me inside a rap world with niggas that wink| At other rappers undercover niggas spit every way|Won't be surprised if all their lives have federal plates".

Amongst the Young Thug and Migos of the world of hiphop. Aubrey Graham is positioning himself to be considered top 5 of All time period. We have all watched and witness the growth of the actor from degrassi who dropped the mixtape/EP classic "So Far Gone", has returned to your ear drums with more of that funk from the 6.

After reviewing "View" Drake has amazed me to show his versatility and range to touch various musical genre's. I can appreciate the growth in artists, the sound of this current project shows signs of maturity. At first I was against singing on records, but as the culture evolve so does the music, I can't categorized Drizzy to the icons and legends from the pass who had an origin of the street element interwoven in their music. Drake's diverse background provides him a platform to rock out on reach records that would be considered out the league for most artists.

The View has features from Riri, Pimp C, Wiz Kid, Popcaan, Kyla and have some dope production from Frank Dukes, Boi1da, Kany West, 40 & Nineteen85: Purchase Click on Link Here: VIEWS

Overall don't be cheap support dope music there is definitely a record out there for you and yours and the various moods we go through. Below are my favorite joints, that stood out on the first listen thru. Make sure you add this to your ipod playlist and music catalog. Salute to Drake for being verse in style mixed with ambition and drive. I would have never thought that the Greatest MC on the planet isn't from the 3 major markets of LA, NYC and Hotlanta.

U with Me produced by 40 & Kanye West

Weston Road Flows produced by 40

Controlla produced by Boi1da, Co produced by Supa Dups & Allen Ritter

One Dance produced by nineteen85, Co Produced 40 & Wiz Kid

Even A Bad Run is Better Than No Run

Beautiful Saturday Morning, started the day with great conversation with my brother from another JFK Co-Owner of ShowOff Records partner with Statik Selektah. We were just catching up on and typical politics involved in the music industry, he had finished working an overnight and was heading to the gym. The underlying theme of our conversation was consistency and respecting the process.

I created this website with intent with purpose but scattered focus because of scattered ideas, the lack of consistent posting has alot to due with my ADHD, and i have been taking the proper measures to address my issues. I am looking forward to sharing my trails and tribulations.  God Willing through my journey I can expire you in the unseen who is reading this that is never too late to accomplish anything you want in this Life. Since the business of Hiphop was on my mind I wanted to create and share a the music playlist that I ran to today.

In short I will also captivating some pictures along my journey.

Dreams Are Tangbile Goals

It has been said that real gangsters move in silence. In the case of Havoc (of Mobb Deep) and legendary producer The Alchemist, the duo chose to let their music speak for themselves. On the newly announced collaborative album, The Silent Partner, Havoc serves as the smooth-talking, gangster mouthpiece to the Alchemist's gritty, one-of-a-kind instrumental backdrops. One of the most decorated producers in hip-hop today, The Alchemist’s relationship with Mobb Deep dates back to 1999 when Cypress Hill’s DJ Muggs introduced the then-upcoming producer to the revered New York duo. The Alchemist would go onto forge a strong bond with the group, resulting in a myriad of classic tracks throughout the years. Connecting for their first full-length collaboration, the duo have shared smooth single "Maintain (Fuck How You Feel)," which premiered today via HotNewHipHop. Sounding sharper than ever, Havoc laces the listener with a series of street narrations over a laid back ALC beat. The Silent Partner is a magnificently organic album that brings together one-half of the Mobb with their favorite producer for a modern day hip-hop classic. The Silent Partner features guest appearances by Method Man, Prodigy (of Mobb Deep) and Cormega and will be released on May 20th via Babygrande Records. #SoundTrack of the evening ! Considering this record is vintage and reminds me of the Golden era, ironically it was appropriate for the run. I finished my run and this joint happened to come up. I clearly haven't been consistent with running and posting on the site.
