Madame Liberty things are difficult right now

liberty_1_orig.jpg

Madame Liberty, things are difficult right now. I am puzzled with what happened between you and me . I am the son of the African Diaspora; my contributions to mankind weren’t sufficient ? I feel maybe I was led on ? What happened in our relationship ? I forgave you for cheating on me for capital interest.

We should talk about liberty and justice for all . Remember equality for all ? You know my older sisters, Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, had groomed me for this moment. My big sisters raised me to lead; haven't I done that with all the adversity and hurdles to clear ? Haven't I expressed my unconditional love to you ? My actions speak louder than words, but right now I am hurting. My family is fed up, my family is sick and tired of being sick and tired of our relationship woes.

Media outlets are sharing visuals and breaking stories; are they seeking the truth, though ? Or are some covering the corrupt injustice system ? Babes, I have mixed emotions. Are we not going to weather this storm ? This can't be the end . My uncles Martin & Malcolm told me about this marathon they were engaged in with you. I would have similar experiences if we hadn’t changed our ways. I understand that one bad apple shouldn't ruin the bunch, but what's going on with the crop and harvest ?

What am I asking for ? To honor my human rights. Help the traumatic mental, physical, physiological, social and emotional effects your brothers of Willie Lynch and Jim Crow have done to my family, by denouncing the doctrine of your uncles, rebuking injustice everywhere. Many are going to comment on our relationship, because they only see bad things. Amongst the war with the unseen enemy, are relationship woes have been considered the Great Awakening. Our peers in other relationships are watching. Are we being loyal to our union ?

Are we abiding by the constitution our ancestors swore on on Juneteenth and Fourth of July ?

Let me know how you feel.

Love always,

Twin Cities Cry Out #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd #PrayingForMinny #SouthMinny #HHDYH @mrpeterparker

Newsflash appears on my iPhone. The message alert reads New York Times 3rd precinct in Minneapolis is under Fire. I immediately thought #HHDYH How Hard Do You Hustle. i pray my brother from another Mr. Peter Parker is safe. He hasn’t returned my text yet, so I am left waiting for a response, instead of dealing with the suspense I figured I would just writing about it because i am up at 1:29 am, looking at images on his instagram plus streaming the cbsnews, i had to write about it. Riot is happening as we speak in the Twin Cities, Minneapolis

Civil unrest is the last resort for some ? I have mixed emotions I am angry as man of color that justice system has failed to properly arraigned justice in a timely manner. Unfortunately property is being destroyed, I wonder how or if ever will we we Americans be able to bounce back ? At the same time I am torn between what is really liberty ? What is justice ? Are we on the dawn ?

I have been silent I haven’t had the courage to express myself, i have never been one for a loss of words, living in unprecedented times. I find myself in awe sometimes catching my mind lost In transition, walking down a path of destruction. I mean the god book exquisitely describes it, quote Torah, Old Testament, New Testament, Holy Quran. As a believer I have to project faith, I want to vibrate positivity, my spirit tells me there will be brighter days, justice and liberty Is seeping through the core of the people’s system like covid-19. Daily trauma has one to question, in the end love will reign supreme.

So I am left pondering the President of the United of States has taken to twitter, I also understand he is in a difficult position but I mean a Police precinct has been abandoned. Who is left to serve and protect the community ? I am praying for Minnesota, that the violent cease, I speak for myself, I am not ready to see tanks coming down the Ave. I understand the people are fed up, the justice system takes time, let’s just say the President and District Attorney press charges on the cops, parts of the city are up in flames, plus rioting, City Hall in Minneapolis has it’s hands full.

In conclusion I am going to bed, god willing, I have the ability and the opportunity to wake up and be the servant of God, whatever is required by my creator this is what I will do to be a pillar of truth.

Love God

Loyalty to mankind

Labor work towards the betterment of humanity

35 Days In.

RUN: A Love/Hate Relationship

I started running three weeks prior to the spreading of Covid-19 in March. I remember getting ready to head to the New York City, for the 2020 Indoor New Balance National Championships. The night before I started noticing the cases where rising, and I really thought about my experiences as resident of New York City, that this virus could spread quickly. Fast forward haven’t had one organize practice of Spring Track, thirty five days later we are all isolated.

Over the last month we have been wondering about when is the next time is competition ? This downtime I have gotten to use wisely I must say. I would like to share, that I am going to bed earlier, I am reading more, eating healthier, meditating, praying more. I believe i have just begun to scratch the surface, but the goal to vibrate at level, that my work impacts, my community. Today the weather was beautiful, I decided to go for a 20 Min run.

I have been living in despair, I have been weak and inconsistent. Covid-19 had me stuck for a few, but I had to recollect my thoughts, gather myself. In my heart, with faith I believe we won’t return back to the days of old, but the new normalcy. I am curious to see how many World Records drop in the next two years because all of these athletes are inside the home, missing competition. I have also been thinking I believe the sport of Track & Field is going to explode. The only activity one can conduct currently is, walking and jogging, the means to getting fit, isn’t at your local gym memberships, isn’t in a pickup basketball, futbol or softball game. I can’t believe the Basketball nets have Zipties.

Who knows but what I do know that the power is prayer and positive thinking. Please everyone practice socail distance, wear your mask in public. Make sure your eating the proper foods, reading and training.

DJ Premier vs RZA = No Score - Live Reflection - RECAP @REALDJPREMIER @RZA #RZAvsDJPremier

I can’t believe i am witnessing the records being released. Musical history during the times we are in, the hiphop GODS, came together and brought a moment, DJ Premier “ Timeless music”, Rza says “Beauty comes in all flavors”. DJ Premier has just dropped Unbelievable by Biggie Smalls, easily one of my favorite records of all time.

The nostalgic feeling to hear arguably 40 of the hottest records composed, in a musical genre which became my childhood anthems. I am noticing that towards the end ODB & Biggie Smalls (Brooklyn) was the heat in the battle keeping these legends alive. The comment thread was energetic, smiles and love around the chat room, as we get accustomed in the virtual world. Amazing to see the game changers, legends, pioneers to friends, family members all engaged in a monumental moment. I am looking forward when the tidal playlist drops, this is something I would play for my future family, this is the standard of the golden era.

Black Thought Zones Out on the NPR Tiny Desk #StreamsOfThought Series

Day 30 of COVID-19. Worldwide we are all in it together. In these times positive vibes only. Many of us have been inside our homes, entertained by various mediums. The IG Battles have been innovative, genuinely the intentions where to spread love. Salute to all the artists, who have taken their crafts serious and utilize their platforms to spread love and awareness.

Growing up my father played so many great bands, Earth Wind & Fire, Parliament Funk. As youth I would hear stories of the Mothership landing in Boston. James Brown standing in downtown talking to the people after Dr.King was assassinated. Once again the musical genius are at again, this time I will tell my future family, about the greatness of the Roots Crew.

The standard has been set, if you aren’t familiar with the Tariq Trotter aka Black Thought & Ahmir Khalib Thompson aka Questlove the founders of the Legendary Roots Crew. God Willing once we get back to interacting to some degree, make sure you catch the Roots Crew Live. In the meanwhile check out their youtube Channel: The Roots

Special salute Abby O’Neil NPR!
