The scene is the fall of 1996 the setting is the World famous “Gorman Hall” located in central dormitory area in University of Massachusetts America. A brother from another Shaun Kelly was a sophomore from Queens NYC, whose gifted with a musical ear especially in percussion. We would argue over who the best rappers at the times where. Shaun being from Queens he is representing Nas, in the meanwhile my favorite rapper was Redman. We would argue, Red Sox vs Yankees, Pats vs The Giants, for every healthy debate would be seeds planted to a lifetime friendship. Years later he has drummed for Les Nubians, Blitz thee Ambassador, Sade & many more. A world traveler as a musician now it’s his moment.

Royce da 5'9" - Boblo Boat ft. J. Cole

[Verse 1: Royce Da 5’9″]
Nothing compared to our family trips
My uncle shook hands with a manly grip
All this hand-me-down-shit; I had had an uncanny fit
All the gangstas I had in my family had me anti-bitch
My granddaddy mistress caught the business from my granny fist
That was back ‘fore I was born
Pop told stories ’bout it that would last for hours-long
And as a family, we was just so happy when him and mama got along
On the Bob-Lo boat
Uh, on our way to that black amusement park
Wood rollercoasters, crack sold on plastic scooter cars
Uh, smoking grass at the vintage food court
Broken glass, waiting on you on the swimming pool floor
I came across my identity on the Bob-Lo boat
That’s where I lost my virginity, no condom, though
That’s when paranoia hit me like when superstition does
Left my inhibitions I guess where my supervision was
Parties on the way to the island would be the livest, though
First-time big bro hit the bottle was on the Bob-Lo boat
But neither one of us knew that we would both
Grow up and turn to alcoholics, though, the Bob-Lo boat

#PRhyme2 @Royceda59 x @REALDJPREMIER Freestyle90 w/ @funkflex

It's Flex Fault ! Hilarious i can take personal claim that I slept on Royce DA 5'9.. Huh yes i admit I slept more like i always respected his catalog but I just never gave him a honest listen. When it comes to the art of freestyle I take it serious thou. For me there are two acceptable forms of freestyle.

1st form of freestyle in Hiphop culture would be considered would be when an MC (Master of Ceremonies or Move Crowds or Mic Controller) off the dome or off the top ebonically speaking would be where one would spit  a rhyme that was organic and created in the moment.

2nd form of freestyle in hiphop culture would be considered when an MC would use pre-rehearse material, or written music on different beats showcasing delivery, cadence and most important how he or she rides the rhythm.

Royce DA 5'9 in this freestyle showcases his genius by reaching into his book of rhymes proving he is a titan on the mic, plus it's always a pleasure to see one of the greatest DJ/Producer's still active Gangstar's own DJ Premier. When you get a chance check out Prhyme2 pre-order available now..

Drake "View" Reviews

SMDH hurt myself while participating in Yoga position downward dog a few days ago, I developed a muscle spasm in below my left shoulder blade. Regardless felt good to just get out there and something in #EarlyBirdGetsTheWorm. First run in several days, slow and steady but we are working out the kinks.

I wont front and act like I was waving the OVO Flag. I wont front I am breaking out the habit of comparing and contrasting newer artists to the Golden era artists. On the project "Life is Good" by Nas on the track "Back When" Nasir Jones is quoted with spitting, " To call them fake today it's hate| real niggas extinct 'Pac left me inside a rap world with niggas that wink| At other rappers undercover niggas spit every way|Won't be surprised if all their lives have federal plates".

Amongst the Young Thug and Migos of the world of hiphop. Aubrey Graham is positioning himself to be considered top 5 of All time period. We have all watched and witness the growth of the actor from degrassi who dropped the mixtape/EP classic "So Far Gone", has returned to your ear drums with more of that funk from the 6.

After reviewing "View" Drake has amazed me to show his versatility and range to touch various musical genre's. I can appreciate the growth in artists, the sound of this current project shows signs of maturity. At first I was against singing on records, but as the culture evolve so does the music, I can't categorized Drizzy to the icons and legends from the pass who had an origin of the street element interwoven in their music. Drake's diverse background provides him a platform to rock out on reach records that would be considered out the league for most artists.

The View has features from Riri, Pimp C, Wiz Kid, Popcaan, Kyla and have some dope production from Frank Dukes, Boi1da, Kany West, 40 & Nineteen85: Purchase Click on Link Here: VIEWS

Overall don't be cheap support dope music there is definitely a record out there for you and yours and the various moods we go through. Below are my favorite joints, that stood out on the first listen thru. Make sure you add this to your ipod playlist and music catalog. Salute to Drake for being verse in style mixed with ambition and drive. I would have never thought that the Greatest MC on the planet isn't from the 3 major markets of LA, NYC and Hotlanta.

U with Me produced by 40 & Kanye West

Weston Road Flows produced by 40

Controlla produced by Boi1da, Co produced by Supa Dups & Allen Ritter

End of the Era | The Sickness | Streetz Is Watching

Bittersweet day the game of basketball had one of it's greatest ever retire yesterday. #MambaOut Kobe put on a performance for the ages, by scoring 60 Points in his last NBA game. I personally I am pleased on this display, Kobe satisfied every Purple & Gold Fan worldwide with an exist performance like this versus the Utah Jazz

Colin Cowherd on Kobe Bryant retiring from the NBA and what it means for the league going forward.

Tribute videos are flooding youtube and social media feeds. Kobe serves as a generational icon, he is leaving the games of basketball better than he came in. The countless tributes but there are some that caught my attention, Kobe Bean Bryant one of the greatest Basketball players has retired. The Hiphop community was impacted by the retirement of Kobe. Check out  Kendrick Lamar said it best "Fade to Black" as well as Loso  went in the Black Mamba Freestyle

Kobe for me was one of the greatest players I ever watched and rooted for through his trials and tribulations. Most of the greats battle and conquer adversity. Black Mamba was revered he was hated, but when it came to the game basketball he was one of the greatest to ever do it. Salute to you Kobe in all your future endeavors.

Nasir Jones teamed up with Madlib on the upcoming  from J Dilla's to drop "The Sickness" "The Diary" available exclusively on iTunes. Buy it here: The Diary by J'Dilla  check out the Official video below

#SoundTrackofTheDay was spent bringing back the Broad Street Bully Beanie Sigel. A marquee and distinctive voice from the 215 was missed but he is a free man back on the streets, but I had to dust this joint and enjoy my run blasting this crack.

Even A Bad Run is Better Than No Run

Beautiful Saturday Morning, started the day with great conversation with my brother from another JFK Co-Owner of ShowOff Records partner with Statik Selektah. We were just catching up on and typical politics involved in the music industry, he had finished working an overnight and was heading to the gym. The underlying theme of our conversation was consistency and respecting the process.

I created this website with intent with purpose but scattered focus because of scattered ideas, the lack of consistent posting has alot to due with my ADHD, and i have been taking the proper measures to address my issues. I am looking forward to sharing my trails and tribulations.  God Willing through my journey I can expire you in the unseen who is reading this that is never too late to accomplish anything you want in this Life. Since the business of Hiphop was on my mind I wanted to create and share a the music playlist that I ran to today.

In short I will also captivating some pictures along my journey.

Today's run was Distance: 2.6 miles
Pace: 10:05  min/mile

Dreams Are Tangbile Goals

It has been said that real gangsters move in silence. In the case of Havoc (of Mobb Deep) and legendary producer The Alchemist, the duo chose to let their music speak for themselves. On the newly announced collaborative album, The Silent Partner, Havoc serves as the smooth-talking, gangster mouthpiece to the Alchemist's gritty, one-of-a-kind instrumental backdrops. One of the most decorated producers in hip-hop today, The Alchemist’s relationship with Mobb Deep dates back to 1999 when Cypress Hill’s DJ Muggs introduced the then-upcoming producer to the revered New York duo. The Alchemist would go onto forge a strong bond with the group, resulting in a myriad of classic tracks throughout the years. Connecting for their first full-length collaboration, the duo have shared smooth single "Maintain (Fuck How You Feel)," which premiered today via HotNewHipHop. Sounding sharper than ever, Havoc laces the listener with a series of street narrations over a laid back ALC beat. The Silent Partner is a magnificently organic album that brings together one-half of the Mobb with their favorite producer for a modern day hip-hop classic. The Silent Partner features guest appearances by Method Man, Prodigy (of Mobb Deep) and Cormega and will be released on May 20th via Babygrande Records. Temperature is Rising

#SoundTrack of the evening ! Considering this record is vintage and reminds me of the Golden era, ironically it was appropriate for the run. I finished my run and this joint happened to come up. I clearly haven't been consistent with running and posting on the site. Please forgive me in my absence life circumstances have definitely occupied my time. Regardless it feel good getting out last night and getting some running in. First time out in weeks I did 1.79 Miles. I am tracking my workouts utilizing the
